On this page you will find the Advice and Guidance that scaffolds the UK Quality Code for Higher Education 2024. It is currently being developed in partnership with the higher education sector and will align to the 12 Sector Agreed Principles and is designed to unpack and expand the key practices that sit under them and will include practical advice, reflective questions and further resources.
The Advice and Guidance is not mandatory for providers, but illustrative of possible approaches to meeting the Sector Agreed Principles. National regulators and QAA are not bound by the information in the Advice and Guidance and will not view it as compliance indicators and does not interpret statutory requirements.
QAA will publish the first tranche of advice and guidance by the end of June 2025 with the full suite covering all 12 principles to be published by the end of June 2026.
The first tranche of Principles to be published are:
Principle 1: Taking a strategic approach to managing quality and standards
Principle 2: Engaging students as partners
Principle 8: Operating partnerships with other organisations.
