The impact of inequalities within higher education has attracted increasing attention, particularly concerning gaps in degree awards, progression, and student experience.

This QAA funded project created an online repository to share case studies and evaluations of support mechanisms and interventions from higher education institutes (HEI) across the UK, demonstrating where racialised awarding gaps have been closed through particular actions or processes. The repository aims to share practice from across the sector, recognising the wealth of knowledge and collective effort of individuals and organisations, enabling higher education practitioners to avoid duplication and progress our commitment to eliminating award gaps.

Report: Investigating the Elimination of Differential Outcomes

Publication date: 20 Jul 2023

This Collaborative Enhancement Project developed an online repository to provide accessible guidance and resources to support academic staff in closing awarding gaps.

You can access the online resources via The UK Higher Education Award Gap Group repository. The repository hosts guidance documents, case studies and evaluations of support mechanisms and interventions from higher education providers across the UK.

The practical materials demonstrate efforts undertaken by providers to close racialised awarding gaps and provide those accessing the resource the opportunity to replicate and develop research, support mechanisms and interventions in their own institutional contexts.

The project team held an interactive workshop on September 6th and presented the slides below, showcasing project activities.
