Subject Benchmark Statement
Subject Benchmark Statements describe the nature of study and the academic standards expected of graduates in specific subject areas. They show what graduates might reasonably be expected to know, do and understand at the end of their studies.
Below you will find the full Subject Benchmark Statement for Land, Construction, Real Estate and Surveying. Alongside it, we have also published a summary designed to provide a short and accessible overview of the main Statement for students, employers and academics.
About this subject
Land, Construction, Real Estate and Surveying (LCRES) represent the diverse subjects covering the entire life-cycle of the built environment. LCRES courses have connections to other subjects associated with the environment, its buildings and associated infrastructure - such as, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, housing, and town and country planning.
LCRES courses have a strong vocational component which prepares graduates for a wide range of careers in built environment, but also in project management, finance and investment, consultancy, accounting and engineering. Graduates have a unique opportunity to inclusively shape the way that people live their lives and influence a sustainable built and natural environment.
