Since January 2020, Zhejiang University (ZJU) has funded access to online learning for more than 1,000 disadvantaged students. The University has also negotiated deals with several network providers to subsidize the data plans of its faculty and students. For students without access to live streaming or grappling with poor internet connections, ZJU provides them with lecture recordings and courseware packages.

In early March 2020, the University announced a one-stop 'Research at ZJU' platform allowing scientists and students to collaborate online despite the disruption caused by the pandemic. Internally, this system consists of disciplines, faculty, teaching and research. - Campus re-opening and epidemic prevention measures
On April 23rd 2020, the Provost announced plans for their Chinese campus to reopen following a visit by the Ningbo Education Bureau Inspection Team. The University announced a plan for students to return in two groups.
Group 1: The first group of students are to return to campus over the period 26 to 28 April to resume face-to-face teaching on 29 April; this group consists of:- All year four students
- Postgraduate taught students
- Postgraduate research students
- Faculty of Science and Engineering year two to three students.
One of the requirements for UNNC to re-open is that is must be able to report on the daily health status of its students, and travel plans of students need to be collated. This is collected via the WeChat mini programme. On campus students should bring clinical thermometers along with sufficient masks, tissues, alcohol-disinfectant wipes or water-free hand sanitizers and freshness protection packages (for mask disposal). Students returning to Ningbo from Hubei will undertake a 14-day isolation in a hotel prior to returning. External visitors without prior approval from the University are not allowed to enter campus during the period of epidemic prevention and control. Parents, other relatives and private cars (unregistered) cannot enter the campus. Students should show campus cards (or ID cards) and a green health code as well as undergo a temperature check to enter the University.
Students are not allowed to leave campus during the period of epidemic prevention and control except for essential purposes such as medical treatment.
Other Universities across China are re-opining with similar health measures in place.
