The Quality Assurance Agency has published a set of resources from 2024's Student Engagement Festival, which we hosted online on 14-18 October.
The five-day event explored the importance of relationships and connections, the role of effective collaboration, the value to students of a range of engagement options and strategies to help to understand power imbalances.
In addition to a range of contributors from QAA, our external speakers included the University of Westminster's Tom Lowe, Sheffield Hallam University's Jill LeBihan, the Highlands and Islands Students’ Association's Aimee Cuthbert, the University of Exeter's Professor Nicky King, the University of Leicester's Dr Tosha Nembhard, Imperial's Dr Camille Kandiko Howson, Birmingham City University's Professor Matt O’Leary, the University of Wolverhampton's Dr Jenni Jones, and Loughborough University's Dr Susana Monserrat and Dr Yanning Yang, and the University of Southampton's Emily Bastable, Tegan Alexander-Prewett and Jo Holmes.
'This was a truly vibrant event which put students and student engagement exactly where they should be – right at the front and centre of our work to enhance the student experience,' said QAA's Sector Engagement Manager Sophie Hall. 'We very much hope our Members found our participants' contributions as insightful as we did – and will now find this permanent resource valuable in support of their ongoing enhancement activities.'
The full set of resources is available to QAA Members on the Membership Resources website.
