QAA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT).
By signing the agreement, QAA and HEEACT have committed to sharing their experience on quality assurance and evaluation of higher education institutions, as well as to working together on the development of transnational education in Taiwan. Through the memorandum, QAA and HEEACT have also agreed to explore opportunities for joint working in international accreditation and higher education review activity.
HEEACT is a quality assurance agency that aims to improve the quality of Taiwan’s higher education. It promotes Taiwan’s quality assurance in higher education accreditation and evaluation, and also collaborates internationally to conduct quality assurance research and cooperation between agencies.
QAA’s partnership with HEEACT has been ongoing for a number of years, including a Letter of Intent, signed in March 2019. We are pleased to further this relationship through the signing of a MoU.
The MoU was signed by HEEACT’s Executive Director Fu-Hsing Lu in Taipei and QAA’s CEO Vicki Stott at the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) conference held in Astana in May.
Fu-Hsing Lu said: ‘This MoU signifies the continuation of the mutual partnership between QAA and HEEACT. We welcome opportunities to enhance quality of higher education and look forward to working with QAA for future collaboration.’
Vicki Stott said: ‘We are delighted to sign this MoU and mark the strengthening of our relationship with HEEACT. Through this agreement, we will continue to work together in the best interests of UK and Taiwan higher education and explore opportunities for the development of transnational education.’
