QAA publishes report on collaborative provision

QAA has published original analysis of lessons that have been learnt on collaborative provision from its reviews across the UK.
For the purposes of QAA reviews, collaborative provision involves any partnership arrangement, normally where one higher education provider delivers a course and another grants the award.
QAA’s quality reviews include collaborative provision wherever and however it is delivered – and cover both providers who operate as lead partners and those operating as delivery partners.
This report examines areas of good practice and offers recommendations for improvement in relation to three key themes identified by our analysis: robust oversight, constructive relationships and a coherent student experience.
'We've recently seen increased scrutiny of the UK's franchised provision and with it, greater attention on collaborative provision more broadly', says Helena Vine, QAA's Lead Policy Officer for England. 'This report, based on the outcomes of our extensive review activities, provides evidence-based areas of focus - both strengths and areas of improvements - to better guide this debate and facilitate robust practice across the sector'.
