Following the announcement of our 25th anniversary celebrations last month, we are pleased to publish the ‘QAA at 25’ programme of events and publications.
Throughout the year, QAA will be holding a series of conversations with higher education experts from across the UK and around the world. These conversations will be a wide-ranging exploration of quality, in different contexts and from a range of perspectives. The QAA 25th anniversary series is delivered in our capacity as a membership organisation.
Our starting point is the central question - ‘What does quality really mean in practice in a complex and rapidly changing UK sector?’. Over the course of the year, QAA and expert guests will unpack aspects of the definition and explore the implications for everyone in UK higher education, wider society and internationally.
The events in the ‘QAA at 25’ series include a number of online debates exploring topics such as assessment, quality in a global higher education system, and academic integrity. QAA will also host a live debate and reception at the Senate House, University of London in June for invited guests.
We will also publish a series of invited contributions on our QAA Blog section from colleagues across the sector, sharing fresh perspectives on topics such as education for sustainable development, student engagement in quality, and quality in small/specialist providers.
Information on all of the events and publications that will make up the 'QAA at 25' series is available via the series programme. We began this series with the publication of Defining Quality, a new Policy Note in collaboration with the Higher Education Policy Institute (HEPI). This publication was written by our Chief Executive, Vicki Stott and explores how a complex and relative term like ‘quality’ can be defined in UK higher education today.
We look forward to engaging with QAA Members and partners at our events and online using #QAA25.
