QAA publishes guide to credit recognition

QAA has published a quick guide to recognising credit.
The new guide is designed to be a brief, accessible and user-friendly introduction to the principles underpinning credit recognition and transfer.
It explores how the four nations of the UK have developed strategies to lifelong learning, and the particular importance of credit recognition to these strategies, as well as to providers' broader admissions and awarding processes.
It looks at varieties of approaches providers may adopt, and their impacts on the design of taught provision and on the assurance of quality and the maintenance of academic standards. It also looks at effective practices in the communication of information relating to these processes.
