The delegation included Dr Mohamed Yousif Baniyas, His Excellency Higher Education Advisor and Director of the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) and Director of the National Qualifications Center (NQC), His Excellency Dr Mohammed Al Mualla, the Undersecretary for Higher Education Academic Affairs, as well as other representatives from the UAE Ministry of Education.
During the meeting, QAA’s Chief Executive, Vicki Stott and Director of International & Professional Services, Stephanie Sandford discussed our broad collaboration with the Ministry and key matters of priority for UK and UAE higher education including academic integrity, quality and standards, and the quality of online learning.
Building on our longstanding collaboration, we agreed expansion of our partnership in a number of areas of collaboration moving forward for mutual benefit. This meeting was carried out in QAA’s capacity supporting the development of higher education quality internationally, including activity to support QAA members and collaboration with international partners.
QAA representatives also recently attended the MENA Higher Education Leadership Forum in the UAE. This event provided a great opportunity for QAA to discuss emerging developments, trends, opportunities and issues of major common concern to both global and regional higher education with global leaders.
QAA previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the CAA in 2020.
