QAA launches Higher Education Toolkit for colleges and independent providers

QAA is supporting colleges and independent higher education providers to engage with the UK Quality Code through an updated Higher Education Toolkit. The toolkit aims to support the diverse range of colleges and independent providers of higher education across the UK, particularly those without full degree awarding powers, and with smaller-scale provision.
As providers continue to expand and diversify their higher education offerings, the quality assurance arrangements associated with this provision can become considerably more complex. The toolkit is intended to be used by providers in reviewing and enhancing their own practices by identifying how the principles of the UK Quality Code for Higher Education can be applied and integrated within their institutional contexts.
This toolkit is intended to be used as a guidance document and to support staff. It does not form part of the regulatory requirements in the UK. The toolkit is designed to be used as:
- a training tool to enhance practice
- a reference point to aid the completion of specific tasks
- a stimulus for sharing good practice.
The resource has been informed by college and independent higher education providers who are QAA Quality Insights Members through discussion in the college higher education network and a series of focus groups.
The toolkit is available to all QAA Member institutions who have taken the Quality Insights package on our Membership Resources site.
QAA Members can sign up to use the Membership Resources site by completing our simple registration form.
QAA Membership provides vision, expertise and guidance on the topics that matter to staff and students.
