QAA has joined quality agencies from Australia, Ghana, Ireland and South Africa to convene an expert panel as part of this year's International Day of Action for Academic Integrity (IDOA), which will take place online on Wednesday 16 October.
IDOA is co-chaired by Professor Mary Davis from Oxford Brookes University. Mary also serves as a member of QAA's Academic Integrity Advisory Group and is taking part in a special QAA podcast we'll be releasing to mark the day on 16 October.
Our panel at IDOA will discuss responsibilities for academic integrity from an international quality enhancement perspective. Panellists will include Laura Flynn from Quality and Qualifications Ireland, Dr Helen Gniel from Australia's Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency, Dr Phumzile Dlamini from Council HE South Africa, and Kwaku Awuah-Boateng from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission.
Our panel will be chaired by QAA's Chief Executive Vicki Stott, who also serves as president of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education.
'IDOA is an important reminder of how academic integrity underpins the value of all studies', says Vicki. 'The rise of Generative AI has of course highlighted our shared responsibilities in addressing new challenges for higher education in this space. I very much look forward to joining this impressive panel of international experts to explore these issues'.
