QAA Chief Executive addresses APQN/Macao Polytechnic Institute 12th Higher Education International Conference

Douglas Blackstock, QAA’s Chief Executive, spoke at the APQN/Macao Polytechnic Institute 12th Higher Education International Conference on 25 November 2020. The focus of the conference was the quality assuring teaching and learning in higher education during the COVID-19 pandemic. Douglas delivered the keynote speech on the role of quality assurance agencies both domestically and internationally. He explained QAA’s role in safeguarding standards and quality across the UK, for transnational and for international higher education, and shared examples of how QAA has worked in partnership to raise awareness of how standards can be secured, quality can be assured and providers can be supported in a challenging time. He further explored the importance of international collaboration between quality assurance agencies in a complex and rapidly evolving environment, and shared reflections on the post-pandemic landscape.
