QAA appoints Interim Director of Quality Assessment England

QAA is pleased to announce the appointment of Rob Stroud as our Interim Director of Quality Assessment England. Rob will lead our work as the Designated Quality Body for higher education in England, acting as the main point of contact with the Office for Students in the execution of these functions.
Rob is an experienced leader in higher education management and policy, having previously served as Head of Market Exit at the Office for Students, following numerous roles within the former Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), including as Head of Alternative Provider Intelligence and Engagement.
Speaking about his new role, Rob said: ‘I’m delighted to have an opportunity to work with an organisation with the strong reputation that QAA and its staff have as experts in higher education quality, particularly during this important forthcoming period with the changes proposed for quality assessment in England.’
Welcoming Rob to the organisation, QAA’s Chief Executive Vicki Stott said: ‘I’m delighted to welcome Rob as Interim Director for Quality Assessment England. His extensive experience of the English higher education regulatory system will help to ensure that QAA continues to carry out its functions as Designated Quality Body successfully and continues to foster a strong working relationship with the Office for Students.’
Rob will commence his role on Monday 24 January 2022.
