We are pleased to announce that Eve Alcock has been appointed to our Board of Directors as our new Student Board Member.
Eve is the outgoing two-term President of the University of Bath Students' Union, where she has led on governance, student inclusion and engagement. She brings experience from roles on the UK Standing Committee for Quality Assessment (UKSCQA) and the NUS Higher Education Committee.
QAA Chair, Professor Simon Gaskell said: ‘I am delighted to welcome Eve to our Board. An experienced student representative, she will enrich the board with new and different perspectives on the challenges facing the higher education sector and QAA’s work. We look forward to working with Eve as QAA continues to support the sector through the impact of the restrictions imposed to tackle the COVID-19 outbreak and beyond.’
Eve Alcock, commenting on her new appointment, said: ‘I am very pleased to join the QAA Board. The higher education sector is currently going through significant change, and QAA plays an important role in ensuring quality and standards for all students in the UK. I am delighted to be joining the Board at this time and to represent the voice of students in higher education'.
Eve will succeed our outgoing Student Board Member, Matt Adie, on 22 June 2020. QAA would like to thank Matt for his invaluable contributions and excellent support over the last two years, including his substantial contribution as co-Chair of our Student Strategic Advisory Committee.
