Open College Network West Midlands AVA licence surrender
Date: | August 1 - 2023 |
---|
Open College Network West Midlands has voluntarily surrendered its Access Validating Agency (AVA) licence.
The Board of Open College Network West Midlands informed QAA in January 2023 of its intention to surrender its licence as an AVA and transition provision of Access to HE Diplomas to AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group.
The surrender of licence took effect on 31 July 2023. From this date, Open College Network West Midlands is no longer licensed to develop, validate or award Access to HE Diplomas, can no longer register Access to Higher Education students, and is no longer regulated by QAA.
Open College Network West Midlands made arrangements for the transition of provision to AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group. Through the process of surrender of licence and transition of provision, QAA has been assured by both Open College Network West Midlands and AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group, that there will be no adverse effect on students as a result of the surrender of the AVA licence. Both organisations have worked with course providers to ensure the QAA-recognised Access to HE provision can be continued and students protected.
