QAA has published a new edition of our Student Guide for QAA Reviews in Wales, funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales.
This guide is intended to help and advise students, student representatives and members of staff supporting students involved in QAA Cymru-led quality reviews. It is designed to provide an overview of student engagement in a review and to help students prepare to engage with all parts of the review method in partnership with providers.
The guide covers quality review methods in Wales including the revised Quality Enhancement Review and Gateway Quality Review (Wales).
It includes advice on developing student submissions and supporting students to engage with review teams as part of their visits. It also focuses on the roles students play within these processes, the responsibilities of students, and the ways in which they can fully contribute to a review.
It emphasises that students play a crucial role in the quality assessment of higher education and charts the key stages of student involvement in review processes, as well as providing a handy glossary of the most common terms used in the world of quality assurance and enhancement activities.
It contains advice on format for student submissions to reviews - which can include videos and podcasts - and a comprehensive checklist of key activities in which Lead Student Representatives take part during reviews and in preparation for review visits.
It's an essential addition to the reading lists of any students - and anyone supporting students - who'll be participating in quality reviews in Wales.
