Indonesia Country Report now available for QAA International Insights members

International Insights Members now have access to a new Country Report on Indonesia, published today by QAA. The resource is the latest in the series which provides key information on the higher education and regulatory landscape of priority countries for UK transnational education (TNE) as well as other partnerships and collaborative opportunities.

Indonesia has been identified as a priority country with significant potential for growth of education exports in the 2021 update to the UK Government's International Education Strategy. Enrolment to higher education in Indonesia has increased from 5.2 million in 2010 to approximately 8 million in 2020. This growth offers significant potential for global collaboration with increasing interest among UK providers in establishing TNE partnerships with Indonesian higher education institutions.

The report provides intelligence and high-level regulatory information, as well as highlighting challenges and opportunities in developing partnerships with Indonesian higher education institutions. It has been developed in QAA’s capacity as a membership organisation.

Through this report, QAA aims to support International Insights Members who wish to explore opportunities in Indonesia by providing information on:

• the higher education landscape in Indonesia
• key policy drivers
• the regulatory landscape and quality assurance
• international student statistics
• UK transnational education in Indonesia.

QAA develops Country Reports with the support of local regulators and quality assurance agencies, as well as other UK sector bodies with relevant experience. In producing the Country Report on Indonesia, we are grateful for the valuable contribution of the Indonesian National Accreditation Body for Higher Education (BAN-PT).
