Can students’ grades improve too much? Join us for our final QAA at 25 event
Date: | November 25 - 2022 |

QAA will convene an expert panel to discuss whether students' grades can improve too much as we close off our 25th anniversary celebrations. The online webinar will take place on 7 December, 11.00-12.30.
The panel will be chaired by Ailsa Crum, Director of Membership, Quality and Standards at QAA, who will be joined by expert speakers from across the higher education sector to discuss this topical issue. Speakers confirmed include:
- Dr Alex Bols, Deputy CEO, GuildHE
- Professor Clare Peddie, Vice-Principal Education, University of St Andrews
- Chloe Field, NUS Vice-President Higher Education
- Tamara Reid, Inclusive Curriculum Consultants, Programme Lead, Kingston University London.
The panel will consider the public discourse surrounding students’ grades and whether it is time to reconsider the way we report on them. They will also discuss concerns around grade inflation, and what impact this has on the way in which the quality of higher education is perceived.
This event will be of interest to a wide range of stakeholders including policy makers, higher education senior leaders, quality professionals, academics and students.
QAA previously examined international perspectives on degree classification profiles as part of its Quality Compass series earlier this year.
