​​​In 2014, we conducted a Review of Transnational Education (TNE) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the 10th most popular destination for UK TNE students. This review looked at UK universities that have established a branch, or physical presence in UAE, as well as a number of partnership arrangements where a UK university is the awarding institution.

Prior to our review visit, we liaised closely with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), our counterpart agency in Dubai with whom we have a signed a Memorandum of Agreement. In addition to sharing intelligence with us, KHDA contributed to briefing the review team about the regulatory environment for international branch campuses in Dubai and observed a number of review visits.
