A review by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) has expressed confidence in Robert Gordon University's progress in continuing to monitor, review and enhance its higher education provision to enable effective arrangements to be in place for managing academic standards and the quality of the student experience.
The review was carried out by a team of three independent reviewers who were appointed by QAA. The review visit took place on 21 February 2024.
The team identified the following areas of good practice:
- The University is committed to a culture of partnership which empowers and engages students collaboratively in designing solutions and enhancements to facilitate student voice opportunities to enhance the student experience.
- The University has demonstrated a commitment to making improvements in the use of data for the benefit of staff and students by working proactively on both policy and practical projects.
QAA also made the following recommendation:
- The University should ensure consistency in the provision of personal tutor support to students across the institution for the start of the next academic year. The University should also be able to demonstrate how the changes made have been designed to enhance consistency.
Professor Lynn Kilbride, Vice-Principal for Academic Development and Student Experience at Robert Gordon University, said: 'At RGU we are proud of our excellent student experience and this external review by QAA, indicating confidence in our effective progress in continuing to monitor, review and enhance our provision, is testament to the hard work and passion of our staff and students to continually make RGU a better place for us all to work and study.'
