This project considered and benchmarked ways in which institutions support students to succeed. The aim of the work was to help support the Scottish higher education sector in comparing with, and learning from, practice outside Scotland.

Scottish Higher Education Enhancement Committee (SHEEC) commissioned this work and assigned a working group to lead the project. The group included experienced colleagues in student support from a variety of different areas of Scottish higher education.

Outputs from this work include:

• practice in student support case studies collected from Scottish institutions
• an exercise scoping international practice
• supporting student success study visit to Denmark and Sweden
• a national conference on supporting student success.
