QAA's Director of Regulatory Services Debra Macfarlane and QAA Scotland's Head of Scotland Alastair Duthie last week attended the College Development Network's College Awards event at the Radisson Blu in Glasgow.
The event had more than 270 guests in attendance – making it the largest Scottish College Awards event to date. The evening celebrated the "exceptional talent, innovation and success of Scotland’s colleges, their staff, and their students".
QAA Scotland sponsored the Employer Connections Award, which was won by Dundee and Angus College for Elevating Care through Culinary Excellence.
Ayrshire College was highly commended in this category for its Innovative Pathway to Renewable Energy Careers.
The Inclusive Employability initiative at Dundee and Angus College and NHS Tayside was also commended.
'This was a truly inspiring event,' said Alastair. 'It was my first time at the CDN College Awards, and it was a real privilege to meet so many dedicated, hard-working and passionate staff and students from across Scotland's colleges.'
