Enhancement Conference 2022 showcases Scotland's continued commitment to enhancing the student experience

QAA Scotland’s Enhancement Conference 2022 took place on 8 and 9 June and brought together more than 400 delegates from across our universities and colleges, who support the delivery of higher education.

The event provided the perfect opportunity for colleagues to be inspired, challenge each other’s thinking and importantly share practice. All with the continuing commitment and drive to enhance the experiences of our students.

The two-day programme provided the opportunity to hear from a number of speakers on a range of activities being undertaken relating to our current Enhancement Theme: Resilient Learning Communities. We were also delighted to hear from our keynote presenters:

• Dr Amanullah De Sondy, Head of Department - Study of Religions, Senior Lecturer in Contemporary Islam, Chair of Race Equality Forum, University College Cork, Ireland
• Professor Ruth Whittaker, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Education and Students, University of Brighton
• Dr Delroy Hall, DelWes Consultancy

The conference also included a Civic Reception in the spectacular Picture Gallery in Glasgow City Chambers, where guests were formally welcomed by Depute Lord Provost Bailie Christy Mearns. 

Speaking about the conference, Caroline Turnbull, Acting Director for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, at QAA said: ‘We were delighted to host this hybrid conference, a global first for QAA, and welcome colleagues in person to Glasgow and meet delegates via our online conference platform. I’d like to extend my thanks to all of our wonderful conference speakers, to our delegates for their continued support of our Enhancement Conference, and to the team at QAA - who worked extremely hard to deliver this hybrid event.’
